Haunted Experience in Akkalkot (Pune-Satara)

Location: Akkalkot (Pune-Satara)Year: 1994 Incident dates back to 06/06/1996 Incident was narrated by my dearest of friends "Himanshu" Most of you would know Akkalkot for SHREE SWAMI SAMARTH, also known as Akkalkot Swami Maharaj. Layperson believes that Ghoul/Evil/Spirits or Demons do not survive within the boundaries of temple...Read further and surprise your perception. What Most of the people in India do not know is, in the boundaries of Akkalkot, there also lies a Temple called "Krodha Bhairava Mandir". "Kaal Bhairav" which depicts shades of lord Shiva with 8 manifestations and the form engraved in this temple is of "Krodha Bhairava". (Legend Quotes: Brahma arrogantly tells Vishnu to worship him because he (Brahma) is the supreme creator. This angered Shiva who in reality is the creator of all. Shiva then incarnated in the form of Bhairava to punish Brahma. Bhairava beheaded one of Brahma's five heads and since then Brahma has only four heads.Himanshu happened to visit "Krodha Bhairava Mandir" through misfortune, His vision failed to believe what he saw, it was a mockery of consciousness...Himanshu’s family had recently shifted in Satara. His driver (Pragyesh) vouched for an adventure, while his father reported to office and mom managed house hold chores. Pragyesh had always been inquisitive about ghosts and spirits, few locals filled his ears with legends and myths about this temple. Pragyesh thought he would brave the situation and convinced himanshu to visit the mystic temple. Himanshu was rather keen on visiting Swami Samantha’s sacred turf, but his thought diluted through pragyesh's ardent thought and words offering adventure. Adventure turns into a Horror-struck incident you cant imagine...

Himanshu and his driver hastily left their house post noon. They had a few miles to cover; they halted for a quick bite, relished the local ‘Kanda-Poha’ and moved-on, only to stop near a bus-stop without any name engraved on its rusted deck. There were few locals who advised them to return home quoting there is no such temple as “Krodha Bhairava” located in Akkalkot. Pragyesh felt intrigued and determined to unveil the mystics of the divine temple, he intuitively knew that he’s near the destination but mislead by local villagers for unspecified reason. Pragyesh parked his car below the shades of a gothic tree. Himanshu suggested going back, it was close to evening; In due course, Pragyesh attentioned them towards a piece of broken bell which was lying in the bushes. Pragyesh’s confident gained momentum, he affirmed that bell appeared to be belonging to a temple; they knew they are really close to their destination. They decided to follow a small path created through rugged bushes; blades of grass appeared vivaciously serene and after a walk of about half a mile, through the crushed grass blades they saw, what appeared like a miracle, compound of “Krodha Bhairava Mandir”, As they hurriedly ran towards boundaries of the temple, blindly assuming they have reached the destination, they observed the gates of the temple were closed…stranded, looking at the degraded and washed-out compound of the temple. They simply jump-passed dull compound walls and breached the gates. Both had a feeling of dismay since there was nothing more than a deserted piece of land. Pragyesh displays his disappointment by hitting the compound wall with anger. Himanshu walks up to pragyesh, lightly pats his shoulder and without uttering a word points his finger towards a cellar, for there amazement, the temple was located below the ground…Both feel they’ve tasted success for the day and enter the cellar, both descended through the steps of rusted pavement…Himanshu’s thought were incredibly horrified when...

Himanshu’s thought were horribly baffled imagining why locals did not guide them towards the mystically living temple? Why is this temple located below the ground? Why were the gates locked and why were the lights appearing gloomy and dull as he strolled through the steps entering the gothic temple? (Temple had half a foot of dreadful drain water, was gloomily illumined with candles. The underground temple was around 40 meters in length X 15 meters in breadth. It was carved with historical scriptures and pictures of robust animals {Elephants/Tigers etc,} along with sun signs and archaic language beyond his understanding. There was a strong wood laden pole on the center of the temple which had blood spilled all over it. It was an incredible discovery; the deity to worship was a chunk of huge triangular stone, appearing to have 3 eyes embossed in triangular form) The gang of two placed there feet gently, submerging them in the dreadful base of water, and suddenly thud!!!!! A noise pierces there ear, noise of bell starts intoxicating their ears, abrupt, loud and disturbing noise bothers them to an extent, they try to shut their ears, placing hand on their ears with tremendous effort…What they see is a mockery of human consciousness, an existence of evil act, the act of pain and blasphemy…

Room was filled with mist; people inside the temple were in a state of trance. Noise, mist and horrible odor started to grip there state of mind. There were few candles lit which had a suspended support through the ceiling. In the approach corner of the temple, Two people were beating each other, speaking in a language beyond anyone’s understanding, they appeared to curse each other and thump each other on myriad parts of each other’s body painlessly. They were hitting each other, hard and aggressive, ridiculously loud, beating and cursing each other in archaic language, no clothes on their body and skin, no expression on their face, while being hit in rage...Himanshu’s thought perceived; this act is beyond human’s capacity. Taking blows of each other even on sensitive parts of the body was beyond rational imagination. Pragyesh gets horror-stuck, imagines himself in a living hell, descended from the earths rein into the world of terror. Being asthmatic; he started panting, feels something is vacuuming the air in his aura. He crashes down with a whisk, straight faced, on the ground and splashes the water, while his blood dissolves, in dreadful water, pricked due to stinger (a sharp stinging blow), from his mouth and nose...

Pragyesh fells unconscious in split of a second. Himanshu takes a helpless look around, decides to return, while mild sun is ought to set way for silver moon. He couldn’t stop himself, looking enigmatically at the obscurity people were performing ,inside the temple. There was another man in the corner, had a blanket of beard, in his 60’s, damaging his head, attempting to break a peeled coconut, while blood spilled out of his hairless head surface. He was biting his teeth, frowning, and penetrating his head harder every time with the blow. Himanshu, looking at the horrendous act was traumatized. He panicked and felt desperate to get out of the living hell. While his mind coaxed him to get out of this evil regime, heart and soul was in a state of trance. His thought process had become fragile now; he couldn’t stop looking at a woman in one of the dark corners of temple, while lifting shoulders of Pragyesh. The dusky woman was scratching her body creating ruckus. She was screaming in cold pain every time she scratched her body. The scratching intensity was growing, screaming intensity was growing too, lying nude; her body had blood all over rushing towards the surface water. Lady had extremely scanty hair and it appeared that they were plucked off from her dark-dusky body. She suddenly started crying in muffled voice, followed by a piercing scream intoxicating human ears. It appeared that woman did not have breasts at all; her body was scratched to core, while she was scratching and spilling her blood, she was shivering in pain, as if fish without water, continuing the act blasphemously...

Pragyesh still enigmatic about the obscurity, himanshu manages to help both of them, ascend through the steps and reach earths turf, breathing miniscule relief, feeling static dilemma. They couldn’t convince their minds about the visible perplexity. Pragyesh, mildly bleeding, continuing to pant, is comforted in the car, as himanshu manages to literally drag him all the way from the temple. While moon appears evolving from heart of the earth, himanshu realizes that his exhausted mind and body is not particularly convinced with the idea of going back home. He observes a movement near the rugged bushes, runs with impulse only to observe the locals who had earlier informed them about ‘Krodha Bhairava’s’ non-existence. He frowns and ridicules them for being untrue. Locals guide their way towards Village Sarpanch (Employee of the ‘Government of India’ to manage village affairs, head of Gram Panchayat). Village Sarpanch (Hareshwarbhau)…

Village Sarpanch (Hareshwarbhau) offers him the truth, on a condition; he never utters a word about the incident and the truth.Hareshwarbhau sends a boy to run an errand, and feed pragyesh with fruits and water. He affirms that “Krodha Bhairava” exists. Hareshwarbhau dictates… (Below mentioned conversation is in a script format)Hareshwarbhau: “Few years ago, a family existed in Dhirampur. Rumika, her husband Uday, father Ramabhau and her beloved brother Upesh. Ramabhau’s wife passed away, after long stuck disease, while desiring for a son to extend their family. Rumika was pregnant for 8 months, family members graced her with happiness and joy, expecting a blue-eyed boy, a child that would bring them glory by surviving there family name. Rumika had a miscarriage earlier, family members were utmost careful about the unborn, they constantly set a vigil on her, fostering her whether awake or asleep. While in the 8th month of pregnancy, the night of pain and distress arrived. Rumika was ought to give birth earlier than expected. Family surprised, worried and waited to see the child liberated from mother’s womb…”

Himanshu (Curiously…): “I hope she didn’t give birth to a girl child, orthodox family isn’t it…anyway, is this having any affiliation towards the temple incident…” Hareshwarbhau: “Himanshu… Yes, you are inquisitive and impatient. I only speak sense...” Hareshwarbhau: “Rumika delivers a child, it appears to be a girl child but deformed. The tender baby evolves without sight. Her eyelids were discharging pus. Child was crying with intoxicated pain. The restless child was in intense pain. Rumika crashes with a whim of discouragement. She shouts, my child will survive but her belief in god wouldn’t...”Hareshwarbhau: “Uday slaps her wife in fury and quotes ‘you’ve given birth to a child who will consume my family name…’ Hareshwarbhau: “Upesh discourages Uday to raise hand on his sister; both hit each other with fist, while the new born continues to cry loud, Uday and Upesh foul each other. Ramabhau intends to extinct an innocent child and grabs a scrapped coconut to damage Childs head. Himanshu: “what, mad house…?”Hareshwarbhau (interrupts): “Rumika stops Ramabhau, there house appears to be a living hell, all of them in intense anger, and anger multiplies in rage, rage multiplies into an atrocious dreadful environment…Rumika, unable to bear the frightful & piercing loud noise feels the crank, she, unable to bear the grudge, plucks off the tongue of a heavenly body…In River of blood & shiver of pain, flapping the body with ferocity, child perishes, with eccentric cry…”Himanshu: (Pukes and cries in disgust, shouts his horror)… “Her own mother…No, that’s not possible, that isn’t true, am getting out of here…”

Hareshwarbhau: (Comforting him with water, lays hand on himanshu’s shoulder) “Truth is what I have to offer…Child’s soul was sucked, rather than gaining life with suckle, she will survive in heaven unto eternity”Himanshu: “This is barbaric…Rotten, Demonic Bastards…”Hareshwarbhau: (interrupts…) “They got what they invited... After Childs death, house was invincibly silent. Family did not mourn; they kept silence…Upesh quoted words of evil, ‘someone had to do this’ and we need to rest this child, hiding its existence from villagers. They could only think about the gothic temple, they couldn’t hide child and its reverence in the fields (act is considered immoral which may curse the land to become infertile), they couldn’t abandon it far away, since, if found, words spread like fire. Ramabhau, in a demonically mesmerizing state, less realized, still carrying scrapped coconut with him, guided the path towards the temple. Temple is deserted since it didn’t have a deity which orthodox villagers could worship”Hareshwarbhau: “Tyrant Ramabhau descends through the steps of mystic temple and family buries the holy child. Family doesn’t realize that the legend of krodha bhairava is true. Shiva’s soul still lingers in the vicinity of archaic temple…”Himanshu: “Why are they still surviving? Why villagers did not discipline them, punish them or kill those demon heads?

Hareshwarbhau: “…It’s believed that Krodha Bhairava (Manifestation of lord Shiva, the all mighty), was furious to sense its turf being ridiculed. His anger triggered a rage, rage to suck and exhaust their lives. He dispersed rage within the souls of demonic family; he tortured their body and soul and gave birth to a trauma. He squeezed out breasts of the women, supposedly a mother, who killed her own child wickedly, while she is ought to feed her. He cursed her to scratch her body to shivers, feel intense pain like her child when she plucked her tongue. He bewildered Uday and Upesh with craze, as they tolerated and supported the act; he made them feel absolute pain, made them abuse each other and feel inhumane. Ramabhau was a victim of his own anger and foolishness; he attempted to take life of his own descendent. He was made to hit his own bare head, for what he had attempted to do with an angelic child. He made all of them feel and bear pain without defiance. He made them enigmatically captured inside the temple and rot. Family was made to bear the exhilarating pain, unto they survive, which child suffered for few moments. They were stripped due to their act which had no morality and shame. There trauma, exile and dreadful pain still exist, that’s there punishment…”
